Ryan Sessegnon has claimed he was always going to stay at Fulham, despite being heavily linked with moves to Manchester United and Tottenham over the summer.
The 18-year-old played a starring role as Slavisa Jokanovic’s men earned promotion back to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs last season, scoring 15 goals in 46 league appearances.
His form in England’s second-tier prompted a series of transfer rumours, with Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly interested in securing the England U21 international’s services.
However, Sessegnon remained at Craven Cottage and has now revealed that he never considered moving to the 20-time English champions or to north London.
“I was always going to stay [at Fulham]. I was always focused on staying and playing for Fulham,” Sessegnon told reporters (via Goal) at the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Ratings Awards.
“It’s the one club I know. I feel very comfortable at Fulham at the moment, and just minutes on the pitch. I just wanted to play.”

Comfortable playing anywhere along the left-hand side, Sessegnon is yet to ignite his top-flight career and hasn’t managed to open his Premier League goalscoring account so far.
Sessegnon, however, is unfazed and even harbours ambitions of one day playing in the Champions League and beyond.
He added: “[I want to] play for England, to play in the Champions League, to play at major tournaments for my country.
“[I want to] to play at World Cups, European Championships, to win Premier Leagues – just as many trophies as I can.”
Fulham currently sit 15th in the Premier League table and travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday.
