Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United take on Frank Lampard’s Derby County in the Carabao Cup this evening as the master takes on the apprentice at Old Trafford for a place in the fourth round.
Mourinho and Lampard had many successful years together at Chelsea. You’d suspect, for the Rams boss particularly, it will be a special occasion as they go head to head in the dug-out.

Alexis Sanchez is coming under fire for his performances at Manchester United and against Derby County, he could be given the chance to play himself back into form.

Man Utd vs Derby – Tip Two: Man Utd to score in both halves @ 19/20
As for the match as a whole, we fully expect the home side to dominate possession and chances against a Derby side that has been inconsistent so far this season. Lampard’s men have won two and lost two on the road so far.
You then have to go back to April for their last clean sheet away from home, while the Red Devils have scored 13 goals in their last four home matches in this competition.

Man Utd vs Derby – Tip Three: First card awarded between 0-15 minutes @ 6/1
Finally, we expect a lively Carabao Cup tie with the referee perhaps stepping in to set his marker down in the opening few minutes of the match.
You’d expect Derby to be extremely motivated, with Lampard telling his team to ensure their hosts know they are in the game from the off.
This could result in one of their players trying too hard early on and picking up a booking as they try to stop Man Utd getting a grip on the game.
The Rams also have 23 yellow cards in the Championship so far this season – only Nottingham Forest have more.
