Liverpool are finally in a position to win the Premier League title according to Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Reds have made the perfect start to the new campaign, winning six games out of six and currently sit pretty atop of the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have carried on their impressive form from last season, which saw them reach the Champions League final – where they lost out 3-1 to Real Madrid – and qualify once more for Europe’s elite competition by finishing in the top-four.
New Chelsea manager Sarri believes that it could finally be the time for Liverpool to claim the league title for their own, for the first time since the 1990 season.
Speaking to reporters (via Goal) Sarri said: “It will be another match in another competition with a different level. I think maybe they can increase their determination after Wednesday.
“It will always be a difficult match against a top-level team. They have worked with the same coach for four seasons and they are ready now to win the Premier League.”
When asked regarding why it has been so long since the Merseyside club have lifted the league title, Sarri responded in support of Klopp’s side.
Sarri added: “It’s very strange but I think the important thing is now they are ready.”
The two sides meet this weekend at Stamford Bridge after they both locked horns midweek in the Football League Cup. A wondergoal from Chelsea’s Eden Hazard was the masterstroke that unlocked Liverpool’s unbeaten run in a 2-1 victory at Anfield on Wednesday night.
