Young Boys vs Manchester United Tip 1: Over 3.5 goals YES @ 2/1

Though the two sides have never met each other before, both United and Young Boys have history with other clubs from the opposition’s country.

In their European quests to date, Young Boys have faced Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton, scoring 10 goals and conceding 20 across six matches. And in those six matches, the lowest combined amount of goals scored by the two sides was four – with the highest being eight in a 5-3 defeat to Liverpool.

United have also faced teams from Switzerland on six occasions, all of which have been against Basel, including in last season’s Champions League. The Red Devils also scored three goals in half of those matches, while averaging 1.33 goals conceded per game.

Young Boys vs Manchester United Tip 2: Romelu Lukaku to score first @ 7/2

When Young Boys faced Everton in the 2014/15 Europa League, the Swiss side were seriously outplayed, losing 7-2 on aggregate in the round-of-32.

Part of that Toffees side was current Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, and the Belgian certainly enjoyed himself against Young Boys, scoring five goals including a hat-trick in the second leg in Bern.

Fast forward three-and-a-half years and Lukaku is currently enjoying himself at Manchester United, scoring 31 goals in 56 games across all competitions so far for the Red Devils.

More interestingly, however, Lukaku has opened the scoring in three of his last four games for club and country, including his two for Man Utd.

Young Boys vs Manchester United Tip 3: Both teams to score YES @ 4/5

Some may expect United to come away from Switzerland on Wednesday night with a clean sheet to kick off their new Champions League campaign, but Young Boys will have something to say about that.

In all competitions so far this season, the Swiss side have scored 28 goals across 10 games with Guillaume Hoarau leading the way with seven.

At the same time, Manchester United have kept just one clean sheet in their opening five Premier League games so far conceding eight to match their goals scored.
