Sergio Ramos thinks it would be ‘crazy’ for Real Madrid to sack Julen Lopetegui following their 1-0 defeat to Alaves on Saturday.
Los Blancos went down to a 95th-minute goal from Manu Garcia and have already lost twice in their opening eight La Liga games, as well as suffering a 1-0 defeat to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
However, despite their patchy form, Ramos believes it would be foolish to rule Real Madrid out so early in the season.
“We have to turn the page, the season is very long and there’s a lot of it left,” the defender said (via Football Espana) after Los Blancos extended their goal drought to over six hours – last scoring in a 1-0 win over Espanyol on the 22nd September.
“Other people decide whether the Coach needs changing, but it’s not normally a good idea. It would be crazy.
“Sometimes it’s better to change and sometimes it’s not, but it’s too early to talk about that and it’s not a decision for the players.
“Whoever writes Madrid off are wrong in the long run. We’re the first to be frustrated by the situation.”
Real Madrid have failed to score in four consecutive games across all competitions for the first time in the 21st century.

Real have only managed to score 12 goals in their first eight La Liga matches so far, six less than rivals Barcelona.
However, Ramos was satisfied with how many chances they created against Alaves, who are now level on points with the Spanish capital club, and thinks the goals will start flowing soon.
The 32-year-old added: “The goals will come back. I saw good spells from us, when we generated chances. It’s a complicated place to play. We’re the first to say we can do more to improve and that’s what we’re doing.”
And, even with the poor recent results, Ramos believes Lopetegui’s men are still on track and that their winning DNA will eventually shine through.
“It’s not fair to blame anyone,” he continued. “We‘re all aware of the reality. Results speak for themselves and more so when you lose. The team have desire, hope and ambition to win. It’s in our DNA. We’re on the right track, despite the bad results.
“The injuries are what they are, we are what we are and we all have to pull in the same direction.
“There are fans who think we don’t care, but it’s the opposite. We’re the first who want to give them joy. It’d be a very big mistake to write us off.”
Real Madrid’s next game is at home to Levante after the international break.
