Juventus talks to sign Man Utd defender Matteo Darmian progressing well, says agent

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is edging closer to a move to Italian giants Juventus according to the player’s agent.

Darmian has struggled to find a place in United manager Jose Mourinho’s team since the Portuguese boss took over the reigns at Old Trafford in 2016.

With Mourinho opting to play the likes of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia ahead of the Italian full-back, rumours have been strong regarding the departure of the former Torino defender.

Given Juventus splashed out around €100 million on former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, there were doubts on whether this deal would continue to take place.

The two sides were locked on their own respective valuations of the player, however, Darmian’s agent Tullio Tinti has told reporters that the move is still on and the likelihood is that the 28-year-old will be a Juventus player sooner rather than later.

Tinti simply told reporters (via Football Italia): “Progressing very well.

“We’re at an advanced stage with Juventus.”

Since 2015, Damian has only made 54 league appearances for Manchester United with the right-back making just 17 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions last season.
