Promising Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster has signed a new long-term deal with the club.
The 18-year-old signed on the dotted line today as he looks to try and break into the Liverpool set-up ahead of the upcoming season.
Despite reported interest from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, Brewster has decided that his future is best served at the Premier League club.
Speaking to reporters (via the official Liverpool website) at the club’s training ground, Brewster expressed his happiness at extending his stay at the club and his further ambitions to succeed at the Anfield club.
“It feels great. I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time now and I think it’s the right moment for me and my family. I’m looking forward to getting back fit and making some appearances.
“Since I got here the club has been amazing to me and treated me like family. It seems like I’ve been here my whole life, to be honest. It’s coming up to my fifth season now. I [still] remember my first training session. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to get started.”
The striker is yet to make a first-team league appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side but has made an impact on the international stage.
The Englishman played just four times for the England U16 side, where his four goals saw him called up to the U17’s, where his lethal goalscoring form continued.
20 goals in 22 matches saw Brewster help the U17’s win the FIFA U-17 World Cup last year, with the Liverpool man bagging the ‘Golden Boot’.
