Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba silenced his critics with his performances for France at the World Cup, according to former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Pogba, 25, has often come under criticism since his return to Manchester in 2016, with many believing he has yet to live up to the billing set by his £89m transfer fee.
But the midfielder featured heavily for France as they won the World Cup for the second time, playing all but one game and scoring in the 4-2 win over Croatia in the final.
And Ibrahimovic, who played with Pogba for two seasons at United, believes the midfielder has already answered those who doubted him but can still go on and improve further.
“I played with him for two years and people like to give their opinion, which they have the right to do,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.
“They judge but I think the result speaks for itself.
“You don’t need to answer by your mouth, you can answer by your feet, and do what you are good at. That is the way it is supposed to be and the way I like to do it.
“He is young. He won the World Cup, he was in the Champions League final (with Juventus), the Europa League final (with United), the European (Championship) final (with France) – and he won many titles at Juventus.
“What more is there to say? Just enjoy the games and I know he will become better.”
Ibrahimovic is currently playing in MLS for LA Galaxy having joined the club in March following his release from Manchester United.
Pogba will be one of a number of players set to miss the start of the Premier League season for Manchester United, with the Frenchman currently enjoying a holiday after his World Cup triumph.

Off the back of an opinion-splitting campaign with United, Pogba proved himself to be one of the best midfielders in the world during the World Cup.
In France’s first game, against Australia, the midfielder’s deflected shot proved to be the winner and got Les Bleus off to the perfect start – though the goal was later taken away from him and awarded as an own goal.
Building a dominant partnership alongside N’Golo Kante, Pogba was given the freedom to attack when he desired, playing in many a great pass for his French teammates, creating nine chances in total throughout the tournament.
And his tournament was capped off when he scored the game-changing third goal of the World Cup final, putting the trophy in France’s hands.
