PSG confirm new deal for Yacine Adli after Arsenal saga

Arsenal‘s hopes of signing promising youngster Yacine Adli from Paris Saint-Germain have faltered as the teenager has penned a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants.

Adli, 17, has been highly-coveted across the continent with Real Madrid a rumoured admirer, but Arsenal were frontrunners to secure the acquisition of the French midfielder as Unai Emery looked to recruit his former player.

However, a possible move to north London now looks unlikely for the teenager after the Parisians offered him a contract with assurances of more first-team opportunities in the coming years.

Reports surfaced that Adli had travelled to London after rejecting overtures from a number of high profile clubs, but the Vitry-sur-Seine-born midfielder has since had a change of heart and extended his stay at the Parc des Princes.

“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce that Yacine Adli has signed his first professional contract with the club. The young midfielder is now tied to the capital club until 30 June 2021,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The club wishes Yacine a long and successful professional career in Rouge et Bleu.”

Adli has signed his first professional contract in the French capital, which will now take his transfer fee to astronomical heights, as rival clubs missed out of prising the youngster away for a reduced price.

Adli came off the bench to make his Ligue 1 debut last season, a 0-0 draw against Caen on the final match of the campaign, and in doing so he earned himself a Ligue 1 winner’s trophy with the Parisians.
