This weekend marks the return of the English domestic season and on Sunday, as Chelsea vs Man City takes place at Wembley in the 2018 Community Shield.
Manchester City are the Premier League’s defending champions, and favourites to win the division again this season. Meanwhile, FA Cup-holders Chelsea are starting the campaign under another new manager in Maurizio Sarri.
While neither side will be at full strength due to the hangover of the World Cup, take a look at our top three Chelsea vs Man City predictions below.

Chelsea vs Manchester City Tip 1: Both teams to score YES @ 8/13
Despite both managers not having the full arsenal of their squads to choose from, goals can be guaranteed in the Community Shield on Sunday.
Under Sarri, Chelsea now look to be a more attacking team in a similar style to the one Guardiola currently uses at City. When Sarri’s Napoli took on Man City in the Champions League last season, both sides scored in both games, with the English side winning 4-2 and 2-1.
In addition, both sides have shown weakness at the back in their pre-season games so far, with Chelsea keeping just one clean sheet (against Perth Glory) and City without a shutout.

Chelsea vs Manchester City Tip 2: Riyad Mahrez to score anytime @ 21/10
Though both teams will not be at full strength, one star set to start for Manchester City will be new signing Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian international finally made his move to the Citizens from Leicester City have been linked since last summer. And Mahrez could find himself on the scoresheet against Chelsea, with Guardiola having stated he is expected to overcome a minor fitness issue.
In each of the past two Community Shield matches, new signings have scored, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic netting for Manchester United against Leicester City in 2016 and Sead Kolasinac doing likewise for Arsenal last year. Given Mahrez’s competitor on the other side, Jorginho, is not known for his goalscoring, the Algerian appears the better bet to get on the scoresheet.

Chelsea vs Manchester City Tip 3: Chelsea to lift the Community Shield @ 5/4
The Community Shield is always a tricky contest to call due to its friendly feel despite an honour being on offer – though not many count it as a trophy.
Chelsea have not had the best luck in the curtain-raiser losing their past three matches in the Community Shield, in 2017 and 2015 when beaten by Arsenal and 2012 when Man City got the better of them.
But, unlike 2015 and 2017, this time Chelsea go into the match as FA Cup holders and have recent history on their side. In each of the past four years, the FA Cup holders have won the Community Shield with 2013 the last time a Premier League champion came out on top when Manchester United beat Wigan Athletic.
