Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman, who is currently on loan at Schalke, has claimed Eden Hazard often predicts what he’s going to do in a match before putting it into place on the pitch.
The Ghanian has made 23 appearances for Chelsea since his arrival in 2015, but is currently on loan at Schalke again after a successful spell with the Bundesliga side last season continuing in his recovery from a bad cruciate ligament injury.
Rahman, 24, has commented on the recent good form of Hazard by revealing the Belgian has a reputation for correctly predicting what he’s going to do during a match.
“Sometimes before a game (Hazard) told me what he had planned for that game and he always made it later,” the left-back told Goal.
“He is really a clown. He always makes fun when we are in the dressing room or at dinner. He’s a funny guy who always makes people laugh around him.
“We don’t have to talk much about Eden’s qualities, he shows in every game that he is an amazing player.”
Hazard is the currently top of the Premier League goalscoring charts having scored five goals so far this season.
Rahman grateful for Chelsea loan system
Chelsea’s policy of loaning out a huge chunk of their squad before each season often comes in for criticism, with the club boasting one of the most successful academies in England.
It’s quite common for an exciting young player to come through the ranks at Stamford Bridge, only to spend several years being loaned out to various clubs for regular first team minutes.
Rahman, though, says that this system has worked in his favour, as he has been able to experience playing regular football for one of the best teams in Germany.
“As one of the best clubs in the world Chelsea gives many players the chance to fulfill their dreams and become a better football player with that system,” Rahman said.
“Me for example I’m able to play at Schalke in front of 60,000 people regularly now, which helps me a lot in my development as a player.”
When asked whether he thought he would play for Chelsea again, the left-back said: “You can never say where football will guide you to. Maybe I stay for the next 10 years at Schalke but I also can imagine playing for Chelsea again.
“But at the moment I don’t think about these things, I’m really happy at Schalke.”
