Man Utd target Milan Skriniar plays down Inter departure

Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar has shrugged off reports linking him with a host of clubs including Manchester United.

The 23-year-old defender joined the Nerazzurri from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017 and has subsequently impressed many observers.

It has naturally led to speculation regarding his future with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and United heavily linked, but as far as Skriniar is concerned he’s not thinking about leaving the San Siro anytime soon.

“I just read that, but I’m not thinking about these things,” he told reporters (via Football Italia).

“There were these rumours in the summer too but nothing happened in the end and I don’t think anything will happen now.”

The lowdown on Milan

Nominally a central defender, though capable of playing at left-back, Skriniar has featured 48 times for Inter to date and registering four goals in the process.

What has impressed though is his aerial ability, having won 61% of his headed duels, and he is equally adept with his feet.

Skriniar, predominantly right-footed, averages a passing accuracy of 93% so far this season.

The Slovakian, who has played in all but two of Inter’s opening eight league fixtures, sees his present deal with the Milanese club expire in June 2022.
