Stefan de Vrij and Kwadwo Asamoah join Radja Nainggolan at Inter Milan

Inter Milan have completed a double swoop for Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij and Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah as the club prepares for its highly-anticipated return to Champions League football.

Luciano Spalletti has wasted no time in bolstering his squad ahead of the 2018/19 season, having recently recruited Roma’s midfield maestro Radja Nainggolan.

The San Siro club have now prised two more Serie A players away from rival clubs, including De Vrij, who has put pen to paper in Milan having played a key role in Lazio’s capitulation on the final day of the season. That result saw his new club clinch Champions League football at the expense of the Biancocelesti.

The Dutch defender has signed a five-year contract with his new employers, while Asamoah has signed a three-year deal.

De Vrij has ended his four-year association with Lazio having established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A since arriving from Feyenoord in 2014.

“Stefan De Vrij is a new Inter player. The Dutch defender has signed a contract with the club that runs from 1st July 2018 until 30 June 2023,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The city of Milan is now ready to welcome De Vrij. #WelcomeStefan and good luck for this new adventure with the Nerazzurri!”

Meanwhile, Asamoah was on the periphery of first-team action at Juventus, having endured a sporadic six season spell in Turin, but the Ghanaian international will now be hoping to cement a place in the Nerazzurri starting XI.

During his time at the Stadio Olimpico, De Vrij amassed over 100 appearances in all competitions for Lazio, scoring 10 goals in the process, including six in the league last term.

Asamoah mustered just over 150 appearances across all competitions during a six year spell with the Old Lady, as he struggled to truly stamp his mark on a starting berth with the club.
