There’s “no problem” between Chelsea and Hazard despite exit talk – Maurizio Sarri

Maurizio Sarri has claimed there is “no problem” between Chelsea and Eden Hazard as the Belgian winger prepares to return to training after the World Cup.

Hazard was one of the stars in Russia this summer, scoring three goals and helping Belgium to a third-placed finish – their best ever World Cup performance.

And, despite being arguably Chelsea’s best player over his 300-game stint so far, speculation has surrounded his future with constant links to Real Madrid following their sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

But Sarri has cooled speculation and played down any potential rift between player and club.

He said (via the Daily Mail): “I talked with him yesterday. We didn’t talk about this. We talked only about ‘Can I arrive on Monday instead of Sunday?’

“In this moment there is no problem for Hazard.”

Over this summer, Hazard has made no secret of his desire to one day play for Real Madrid.

During his time in Russia at the World Cup, Hazard has said things such as: “After 6 wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different.” And claimed the ‘white of Real Madrid is a dream’.

Despite Sarri’s comments, the futures of Eden Hazard and fellow Belgian, Thibaut Courtois, will remain in doubt until the transfer deadline.
