Axel Witsel has flown to Zurich Airport to meet up with his soon-to-be new teammates at Borussia Dortmund ahead of a proposed move to the Bundesliga.
The Belgian midfielder, 29, is set to swap Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian for the German giants following weeks of speculation linking him with the Westfalen Stadium club.
It appears those rumours are set to become a reality with news of the two clubs reaching an agreement for the sale of Witsel for £17.75m, with the player pictured with three U23 Borrusia players at the airport.
Witsel has reportedly signed a four-year deal and will earn roughly £42,000 a week, according to Bild.
Witsel said, when asked about the move to Dortmund: “I’m glad it’s done.”

Witsel was a mainstay in Roberto Martinez’s side as Belgium made it to third-place in the 2018 World Cup.
And now it looks as though he will become BVB’s seventh signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Thomas Delaney, Marwin Hitz, Abdou Diallo, Eric Oelschlagel, Marius Wolf, on top of the arrival of loanee Achraf Hakimi.
Dortmund manager Lucien Favre will hope his club’s extensive business this summer will help his side improve on last season’s relative disappointment of a fourth-place finish in the Bundesliga.
Before their domestic season begins, Dortmund take on Napoli in a pre-season friendly on August 7, before playing Lazio on August 12.
