Anthony Martial breaks silence amid reports of Man Utd fine

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has broken his silence after reports emerged that he had been fined by the club. 

Martial had been given permission to leave the Manchester United pre-season tour of the US to attend the birth of his child.

Rumours have been rife regarding Martial’s future at the Old Trafford club, with the relationship between the Frenchman and manager Jose Mourinho thought to be tense after the talented forward was left out of the France World Cup squad that eventually won the tournament this summer in Russia.

However, Martial has finally broken his silence on Twitter, posting a message revealing the reason for his departure from the United training camp and when and where he aims to return.

The tweet translates to: “Thank you all for your messages. My little Swan is fine, for the mother it was more difficult but Thanks God she is better now. Sorry but my family will always go before everything … Back tomorrow in Manchester”

Mourinho had previously stated that he was unsure when the striker would return to the squad, simply telling reporters: “I don’t know.”

Despite stating that he is to return to Manchester tomorrow, it is highly suspected that his time at the Premier League runners-up may soon be over, with Mourinho often choosing to utilise the talents of fellow United strikers Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford.
