Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is only going to get better as time goes on according to Reds star James Milner. 

Keita starred in a strong Liverpool team who managed to defeat Manuel Pelligrini’s West Ham United side 4-0 at Anfield yesterday.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Daniel Sturridge and two from Sadio Mane shot Jurgen Klopp’s side straight to the top of the Premier League after the first round of fixtures.

Keita’s calm and collected performance drew praise from those who witnessed the victory, including Liverpool star Milner who couldn’t believe how assured the new signing looked on his official competitive debut.

Speaking to reporters (via Goal), Milner heaped praise upon the Guinean international and also revealed his anticipation for the return of other Liverpool stars as they attempt to mount a serious challenge on Manchester City in their bid to win the Premier League title.

“He’s a good player, you can see that straight away,” Milner said.

“He’s only going to get better, so to come into a new team, a new style of play, and to do so well, you can only imagine how good he’s going to be in a few months’ time with more games and more time with the boys.

“He’s a ball-winner, [with] great drive and fantastic ability as well. He’s top quality, like all the signings we’ve brought in.

“It’s more competition, which is exactly what you want. You look at some of the boys on the bench today and those who aren’t quite fit yet, it’s a great squad and exactly what we want.”

Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture is away to Crystal Palace – who defeated Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage on the opening day of fixtures – on the 20th August.
