Manchester United target Ante Rebic confirms ‘concrete offers’ for his services

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Ante Rebic, who impressed for Croatia at this summer’s World Cup, claims a number of clubs are interested in signing him this summer.

Rebic played a starring role in a World Cup campaign that saw his country reach the World Cup final, scoring once along the way.

His fellow countryman Ivan Perisic has been strongly linked with Manchester United for a number of years, but Rebic’s good form is said to have caught the eye of Jose Mourinho’s side this summer.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward, who can play across the front line, netted 9 goals in Germany last season and believes he deserves to have a number of top clubs interested in securing his services this summer.

“I am obviously glad to hear and read about how many big coaches and clubs are asking about me. Honestly, I think I deserved it.

“I had a great World Cup and an even better club season with Eintracht. Yes, I know there are concrete offers, I keep in regular contact with my agent.

“I’m glad I proved that everyone can count on me, but as I said there is enough time left until transfer window closes.”

Are United in need of a player like Rebic?

Jose Mourinho has claimed in recent weeks that he would like to add two new players to his squad before the end of the transfer window.

Some players linked are believed to be Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld, Yerry Mina and Jerome Boateng as United go hunting for a new centre-back.

But there is also a feeling that United are in need of another attacking player. Willian and Ivan Perisic are two names that are often said to be of interest, but could the signing of Rebic represent a clever piece of business before Thursday’s transfer deadline?

If he were to join, he wouldn’t be short of competition, with Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all competing for the forward positions at Old Trafford.
