Ivan Perisic fuels Man Utd rumours but admits Kovac’s Bayern is an option

Ivan Perisic says Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac knows where to find him if there’s an interest in acquiring his services, though has admitted playing in Spain or England remains a dream.

The 29-year-old Croatian international, who signed a five-year contract extension at Inter Milan last season, has in the past been strongly associated with a move to Manchester United.

However, the native of Split isn’t ruling out a potential transfer, as well as the possibility of playing under his former Croatia national team boss Kovac, who is now managing Bayern.

“Me at Bayern? Niko Kovac influenced me a lot,” he told Sport Bild.

“I played very well for Croatia when he was coach and we congratulated each other for everything we did in Germany.

“If he wants me, he knows where I am. I’d like to play in Spain or England one day, but the Champions League comes first.

“I’ve heard that some clubs want me, but before that I must talk to Inter. Only then will I be able to take part in negotiations and make a decision.”

An out-and-out winger, though capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, the Croat has four years left on his present Inter deal after joining the Milanese giants from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015.

Since arriving at the Nerazzurri, he’s gone on to make 118 appearances under five different managers, registering 31 goals and 29 assists in the process.

To date he’s won 73 caps with Croatia, since making his debut under Slaven Bilic in 2011, scoring 21 goals with three of those coming in their historic 2018 World Cup finals campaign which saw Zlatko Dalic’s men finish runners-up to France.

Inter next take on Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup on August 11.
