Real Betis boss Quique Setien has confirmed the club are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Rafhina.
Setien has been quoted (via Football Espana) as saying “Rafinha is a great player who could give us a lot”.
“He understands perfectly our style of play and what we do. He is a player of a top level, with an extraordinary quality that would add a lot to us.
“It is true that there are also players in the squad that also have a lot of quality but I always want players to join us who going to contribute things and they will be welcome.”
With the 25 year old Brazilian being left out of the Barcelona squad for the trip to Real Valladolid on Sunday, it seems likely a move may be imminent.
Despite scoring six goals in 18 league appearance for the Spanish champions, Rafhina joined Inter Milan on loan during the January transfer window.
Following this, the player made 17 league appearances for the Serie A club, scoring two goals. Yet despite the option to purchase the midfielder for €35 million, the player returned to his home club, with whom he joined as a thirteen year old.
He was also omitted from the Brazil World Cup squad, having not featured for the national side since two friendly appearances in 2015.
Barcelona play Valladollid on Saturday evening.
