Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain have released their new away kit for the 2018/19 season and star forward Kylian Mbappe will now wear the No.7 shirt.
The new shirt has a plain white base with a golden emblem and a black ‘Fly Emirates’ sponsor across the middle; the strip could potentially be confused with Real Madrid’s classic shirt at a glance, but was reportedly inspired by the club’s domestic trophy wins last season.
“Anyone who has been to Paris will understand the beauty and power of its many monuments,” said Pete Hoppins, the Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director (via Footy Headlines). “This kit can become synonymous with a triumphant era for PSG and the memories the current squad is creating.”
The resemblance with Real Madrid’s kit will suit Kylian Mbappe, who idolised former Los Blancos star Cristiano Ronaldo as a youngster, and has now followed in his footsteps to take the No.7 shirt.

Mbappe’s performances at the World Cup in Russia – which ultimately helped France to clinch the title in Moscow – saw him draw comparisons with the Portuguese star and many are predicating the 19-year-old will emerge as one of, if not the best, players in the world this coming season.
However, Mbappe’s rhythmic dribbling and electric pace more closely resembles another Ronaldo, Serie A, La Liga, Champions League and Brazilian World Cup winner Ronaldo de Lima.
PSG will take on Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in the last games of their pre-season tour, before facing Monaco in the Trophee des Champions on 4 August.
