Thibaut Courtois wants former Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard to join him at Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old Belgian goalkeeper recently swapped Stamford Bridge for Los Blancos thus ending a seven-year association with the west London club.
Real, who spent £35m to acquire his services, have been heavily linked with Courtois’ compatriot Hazard and the native of Bree hopes to be reunited.
“[Hazard] is very happy that I am here, he is a great player and I would like to be always at his side,” he told reporters (via Metro) at his unveiling.
“Let’s see what happens in the future, if he can come, it would be fantastic.”
Courtois at Chelsea
Courtois initially joined the Blues from Belgian side KRC Genk in 2011 but was immediately loaned to Atletico Madrid, where he enjoyed a three-season spell.
He returned to the Bridge ahead of the 2014/15 season, and immediately won the Premier League with the Blues. To date, he has made 154 appearances for the club.
Across those matches, the Belgian international has managed to keep 58 clean sheets while conceding in 152 goals (or once every 90.8 minutes).
Courtois could make his official Real Madrid debut against former club Atlético Madrid in this year’s UEFA Super Cup, which is being played on August 15.
