“Mbappe and Hazard” – Lucien Favre picks out his dream Dortmund signings

Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre has named Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard as his ‘dream signings’.

Favre took over as Dortmund manager in May and has already brought the likes of Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney, Achraf Hakimi and Abdoue Diallo into the club.

However, in a light-hearted interview with German outlet, Sport Bild (via Sports Mole), the Swiss tactician said it would be a dream to bring in the ‘unbelievable’ talents of Mbappe and Hazard, were funds unlimited.

When asked who his dream recruits would be, he said: “Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard, this is just for fun!

“Mbappe is unbelievable. He is 19 yet so mature and so clever. He makes the difference with his intelligence, playing for the team, and is fast.

 “And if Hazard has the ball – ooh la la – he is so strong. It’s a pleasure to watch him.”

Even if the required funds were available to Favre, he would still find it very difficult to tempt the pair to the Westfalenstadion.

Although the English transfer window is now closed, Hazard is still rumoured to be a major target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, who are looking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo following his move to Juventus, whose transfer window doesn’t close until the end of August.

Mbappe has recently completed a permanent move to PSG after scoring 21 goals in 44 games for the Parisians last season while on loan and, along with Hazard, lit up this summer’s World Cup.

Dortmund kick off their Bundesliga campaign with a home tie against RB Leipzig on Sunday.
