PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe has said he wants to emulate the likes of Paolo Maldini and Sergio Ramos by achieving immense, sustained success with one club.
Kimpebe, who has three caps for France, recently signed a new contract that will keep him in Paris until 2023, at least.
And, in a sequence for the YouTube channel, Bros. Stories (via Canal Supporters), the defender gave an interview stating his ambitions with Les Parisiens which translates to: “My extension? It was an obvious choice because it’s my club.
“I’m at PSG since 2005. For me, it’s important to be the man of a single club, like Paolo Maldini or Sergio Ramos.
“What matters to us is the Cup with big ears [the Champions League].”
How does Kimpembe match up to the greats of Ramos and Maldini?
Despite beginning his career at Sevilla, Ramos joined Real Madrid in 2005 after just one full season with Los Hispalenses and has since become a serial winner with Los Blancos, securing four La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and two Copa del Rey crowns during his time there – Ramos has also won multiple honours with Spain and now captains Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Paolo Maldini was the ultimate one-club man.
After making his debut in the 1984/85 season, Maldini went on to make over 900 appearances for the Rossoneri across 25 seasons with the club before retiring in 2009.
The 126-time Italian international won seven league titles and five Champions Leagues in an incredible career and is one of the most respected defenders to play the game.

At a more tender age of 23, Kimpembe still has a long way to go before he can boast numbers akin to those of Ramos and Maldini but, with two French league titles and other domestic honours already under his belt, he is making good strides toward hitting that level.
Last season was Kimpembe’s best in a PSG shirt as he made 37 appearances in all competitions, helping the team secure a domestic treble.
And, despite his young age, Kimpembe has already achieved something this summer that Maldini was never able to during his long career by winning the Fifa World Cup.
