West Ham United made their ninth signing of the summer in the closing stages of transfer deadline day after they captured midfielder Carlos Sánchez from Fiorentina on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old already has Premier League experience, having spent two years at Aston Villa between 2014 and 2016.
New Irons manager Manuel Pellegrini was keen to make a further enforcement to his midfield before the end of the window after the departure of Cheikhou Kouyaté to Crystal Palace.
Sánchez will be part of a new look West Ham side, with Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks, Fabián Balbuena, Lucas Pérez, Lukasz Fabianski, Andriy Yarmolenko, Issa Diop and Felipe Anderson all arriving this summer.
The holding midfield player was part of the Colombia squad that were sent crashing out of this summer’s World Cup by England and was remarkably sent off in the third minute of their first group game for a deliberate handball against Japan.
