Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted he is yet to come to an agreement with the club over a new contract.
The Welsh international is now in the final year of his current deal at the club, and following Jack Wilshere’s departure in the summer, as a result of his contract expiring, Ramsey’s future remains uncertain.
With a new head coach at the club in Unai Emery, Arsenal are set to go through a transitional period after so long under the guidance of Arsene Wenger, and an often-fixed footballing mentality.
But Ramsey has revealed he is yet to talk to Emery about his future at the club, though remains insistent he does want to stay.
“No conversations with Unai on the contract,” he told reporters, via Goal.
“That has been dealt with by the club.
“I’ve had a few conversations with him about the way we want to play.
“We’ve [Ramsey and the club] yet to come to an agreement. I still have a year left and it is a great feeling to play here.
“I’m looking forward to that. If something is to happen, we’ll see in the coming few weeks.”
Ramsey is currently part of Arsenal’s pre-season squad taking part in the International Champions Cup and has been tipped to become the club’s new captain following the retirement of Per Mertesacker at the end of last season.
Ramsey’s Arsenal career so far
Joining Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008, Ramsey has so far made 331 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.
In that time, the Welshman has scored 59 goals and recorded 57 assists, with 11 coming last season to make him the club’s second-top scorer for the campaign behind Alexandre Lacazette (17).
Ramsey has won three FA Cups so far during his time with Arsenal, as well as two Community Shields.
