Perhaps never before has the Arsenal fanbase been so invested in watching Uruguay. And at the base of Oscar Tabarez’s recently introduced diamond formation, Lucas Torreira has been shimmering.

The president of his current club, Sampdoria, has stated publicly Torreira has been sold for €30 million. In light of the extensive Arsenal links, this has led many to assume the 22-year-old midfielder will be joining Unai Emery’s side once Uruguay’s participation in the 2018 World Cup concludes.
