Paul Pogba starts as Manchester United captain on the opening game of the 2018-19 Premier League season, as United take on Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Fresh from the 25-year-old’s triumph at the World Cup in Russia, Pogba returns to Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up as captain after missing out on pre-season.
Marcus Rashford also starts ahead of the injured Romelu Lukaku who is on the substitutes bench, while Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira all start this evening in place of other injured starters.
With Mourinho struggling to find a reliable centre-back partnership last season, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof start together for the first time in the Premier League tonight.
Harry Maguire was expected to start in a red shirt this evening, but United didn’t manage to land the Englishman and he starts for the Foxes instead.
Jamie Vardy starts on the bench this evening, while new signings Ricardo Pereira makes his debut, as does James Maddison, while Johnny Evans is on the bench.
