Leroy Sane leaves Germany squad for “private reasons” after talks with Low

Leroy Sane has left the Germany squad for ‘private reasons’ and will be unavailable for their friendly against Peru on Sunday, according to the national team’s official Twitter account.

The Manchester City winger had come in for a lot of criticism from Germany teammate Toni Kroos this week over his attitude, with the Real Madrid midfielder saying: “You sometimes get the feeling that it doesn’t matter to him if we win or lose.”

However, Sane still featured for Germany in their Uefa Nations League opening game against France on Thursday night.

But the 22-year-old has now left the team hotel, with a tweet from the German national team’s official English Twitter account reading: “Following discussions with head coach Joachim Löw, Leroy Sane has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for #GERPER.”

The ‘private reasons’ behind Sane’s departure from the squad have not been revealed, but some fans on Twitter believe it is due to Kroos’ recent comments.

While others believe it is because Sane wants to be with his partner, who is reportedly expecting a child.

Regardless of the reason for Sane’s departure, it is another chapter in a tumultuous time with the national team for the ex-Schalke star, who was left out of Germany’s squad for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
