Andriy Yarmolenko‘s West Ham United teammates have wasted no time in rinsing the winger after his glaring miss against Chelsea on Sunday.
Building on their 3-1 win away to Everton in their previous game, the Hammers earned a credible 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Sunday, ending the Blues’ 100% start to the season in the process.
However, in a game of very few chances, it could have been so much better for Manuel Pellegrini’s men when, in the 77th minute, Robert Snodgrass sent a wonderful cross towards Chelsea’s back post. Ukrainian international Yarmolenko found himself on the end the ball, only to head wide from a matter of yards unchallenged.
Despite the miss, the draw moved West Ham onto four points and continues their revival having suffered a tough start to the season, losing their opening four matches while conceding 11 goals.
And Yarmolenko’s West Ham teammates have been very quick to see the funny side of the 28-year-old’s poor finish, posting pictures of a square-headed man with “Yarma?” written above it.
The former-Dynamo Kiev and Borussia Dortmund man, who was signed this summer for £17.5 million, was powerless to defend himself and even posted the video on his own Twitter page.
