Brighton vs Tottenham prediction, stats and betting tips

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to get their season back on track when they face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have lost their last three games in all competitions including two Premier League defeats to Watford and Liverpool, as well as a Champions League reverse to Inter Milan.

Brighton haven’t started the season great either, winning just one of their opening five Premier League games, though it came against Manchester United at the Amex in August.

Ahead of Saturday’s fixture, take a look at our Brighton vs Tottenham prediction, including our top three tips.

Brighton vs Tottenham Tip 1: Tottenham to win @ 78/100

Spurs haven’t had the best of times lately, losing three consecutive matches for the first time under Mauricio Pochettino, but they should be expected to bounce back against Brighton.

The win against Manchester United aside, Brighton haven’t looked great for large parts of the season and were fortunate to gain a point against Southampton last time out.

Tottenham have also enjoyed a good record against Brighton historically, winning 12 of their 26 matches across all competitions including six of the past 10.

Brighton vs Tottenham Tip 2: Glenn Murray to be carded @ 7/2

No team has conceded more fouls in the Premier League this season than Brighton’s 71, and no player has conceded more than Glenn Murray (20).

The forward may make a name for himself as a very capable target man, having won 29 aerial duels to go with his four goals.

But Murray has also been cautioned twice in his five games so far, with both having come in Brighton’s home fixtures against Manchester United and Fulham.

Brighton vs Tottenham Tip 3: Glenn Murray to score anytime @ 13/8

As previously mentioned, Murray has scored four goals in five games so far this season, including three in his past two.

Only Eden Hazard has scored more goals in the Premier League than Murray this season, but the Englishman’s four have come from just nine attempts on goal (including blocked shots).

Given Tottenham’s current defensive frailty, especially from set pieces, Murray should be a shoo-in to score when the two sides meet. Remember, he’s even the Seagulls’ penalty taker.
