Every Arsenal player rated as Aubameyang stars in 4-2 Europa League win

In a comfortable night, Arsenal smashed Vorskla 4-0.

The Gunners played a strong side and were thus able to dominate their Ukrainian visitors from start to finish. They took a while to score their first but once they had it the match became a procession. Here we have rated the Arsenal players out of 10. Who got what? Read on and find out!

Bernd Leno – 6/10

Had almost literally nothing to do. Was helpless on the goal.

Stephan Lichtsteiner – 5/10

A solid defensive presence in the first-half and provided a delightfully lofted cross for Arsenal’s fourth goal. Ruined his performance by getting the ball stuck under his feet and then giving it away for Vorskla’s goal.

Sokratis – 7/10

Repeatedly put himself about early in the match. Shut down Vorskla’s attacks with aggressive defending and even used the ball nicely too. His pass in the build-up to Arsenal’s fourth goal was special.

Rob Holding – 6/10

Did what little he had to do with assurance, but simply wasn’t tested enough.

Nacho Monreal – 7/10

Solid as ever up and down the left-flank. Defended well and provided a constant outlet. Had his crossing been more accurate Arsenal could have threatened double figures.

Lucas Torreira – 7/10

Tigerish in the tackle and quality on the ball too. His set-pieces were dangerous and showed the potential when he’s fully adapted. He got kicked to bits by Vorskla but soldiered on until just before the hour mark when he was subbed off.

Mohamed Elneny – 7/10

Worked hard in both attack and defence. Covered for his team-mates and allowed them to express themselves. Classic Elnens.

Danny Welbeck – 7/10

Worked hard (duh, it’s Welbeck) to constantly provide energy and balance. Even popped up with a neat header to double Arsenal’s lead.

Alex Iwobi – 7/10

Ran hard and held his width in a very intelligent performance. Was always available out wide; and created the opening goal of the night with an inch-perfect cross for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 8/10

Absolutely ran the show. It was his wonderful work that instigated the counter-attack which gave Arsenal the lead, his superbly measured cross to create Arsenal’s second, and his lovely threaded ball for Arsenal’s third.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 8/10

Played at the head of the side and did so with efficiency and confidence, capping attacking moves with goals. Pulled off a tidy finish to make it 1-0 and then in the second half conjured a very special one to make it 3-0. Withdrawn just before the hour.

Matteo Guendouzi – 6/10

Came on for Torreira after 57 minutes. Demanded the ball and played some ambitious passes in an impressive camep, but lost track of Sharpar for Vorskla’s second goal.

Mesut Ozil – 7/10

Came on for Aubameyang after 57 minutes. Scored the fourth with a very clever finish.

Emile Smith-Rowe – 6/10

Came on for Iwobi after 70 minutes. Looked very lively and always willing to take a man on.
