John Terry is set for a sensational return to professional football, with the 37-year-old set to join Russian Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow.
Many had expected the former Chelsea stalwart to call time on his playing career after he left Aston Villa in the summer, with his final match for the side being a 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Championship play-off final.
However, it seems the five-time Premier League winner is not ready to hang up his boots just yet and, should the deal go through, he would become the first England international to don the club colours and would join the likes of Luiz Adriano and Denis Glushakov at the Otkritie Arena.
Spartak endured a frustrating campaign in 2017/18, with Massimo Carrera’s men unable to defend the league title, finishing third.
They were also eliminated in the last 32 of the Europa League after ending up third in their Champions League group, although the team’s only win in the latter competition was a stunning 5-1 win over Sevilla.
